According to the Michigan Department of Education website (www.michigan.gov/mde), Laker High School performed quite well on the 2013-14 Michigan Merit Exam (MME). This is the exam that juniors take in the spring and it includes the ACT. Here are the highlights:
* Lakers met or beat the county and state average MME scores in every subject area (math, reading, science, social studies and writing).
*Lakers also beat the MME average scores for Tuscola County
*Lakers had the top MME score among Huron County schools in reading and social studies.
*Lakers had the no. 2 ACT composite score (19.7) in the county.
The Green Machine is certainly on the right track - kudos to our awesome teachers and students!
"We remain headed in the right direction, with the potential to accomplish even more," noted Laker Secondary School Principal Brian Keim. "We are Lakers and we won't be satisfied with less than the best, but we can take some pride in the progress we are making along the way!"
